We address pressing social challenges—such as food insecurity, youth vulnerability, economic instability, and gender inequity—through five core initiatives:
We envision a community transformed by mercy—a place where every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, can access the resources, support, and opportunities needed to flourish.
Our vision is a future where:
No child goes to bed hungry.
Young people lead with confidence and purpose.
Women rise as changemakers and community leaders.
Families experience financial freedom and stability.
Love, justice, and compassion are the cornerstones of daily life.
With God’s guidance and the strength of community, Great Mercy Outreach Ministry is building a legacy of transformation—one life, one family, and one act of mercy at a time.
We are guided by a dedicated board of directors committed to excellence, accountability, and spiritual service:
Bosco Tanson – Founder & Executive Director
Robert Hatton – Board Chair
Aline Tanson – Board Secretary
Tony Hatton – Board Member
Schola Niyindagiye – Board Member
Lwaboshi Chinaminika – Board Member
Bosco Tanson founded Great Mercy Outreach Ministry in 2023 as an extension of Prayer Nest Ministries, driven by one core belief: that every person, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves access to love, dignity, and opportunity.
That belief didn't come from theory. It came from seeing real needs in real communities. Families struggling to put food on the table. Young people searching for direction with no one to guide them. Women with untapped potential and no platform to develop it. Bosco kept seeing the same gaps, and instead of waiting for someone else to step in, he built something to fill them. That something became Great Mercy Outreach Ministry.
From the beginning, the vision was bigger than handouts. Bosco built GMOM to address the connected forces that keep families stuck: food insecurity, youth vulnerability, economic instability, and gender inequity. The programs were designed with that bigger picture in mind, not just to meet an immediate need, but to create lasting change.
Since its founding, GMOM has grown into a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Middle Tennessee community through food distribution, youth mentorship and leadership development, financial literacy, and women's empowerment. What started as a vision shared within the walls of Prayer Nest Ministries has grown into a community movement with real partners, real volunteers, and real impact.
Bosco continues to lead GMOM as Founder and Executive Director, alongside a dedicated board and an expanding network of community partners who share the same commitment: a community where no child goes to bed hungry, young people lead with purpose, women rise as changemakers, and families experience genuine financial stability.
The work continues. The vision hasn't changed. And every meal served, every young person mentored, and every woman empowered is proof that mercy in action is one of the most powerful forces there is.
